The Sheepadoodle is a very intelligent dog. Typically sheepadoodles love children, love water, are easy to train, eager to please, non-drooling, and really great with other pets. The Sheepadoodle have sturdy, solid builds and are typically medium sized. The head has a broad look between the ears hanging down and on the overall the skull seems dome shaped. The dogs appear to have faces with black and brown feathered shaped eyes. They are beautiful with their gentle soft hair.
The ideal Sheepdogdoodle is well proportioned, muscular, and strong. Their puppies have the best of both breeds, and they are nearly 100% hypoallergenic with long and soft coats that range anywhere from straight to curly. We primarily provide Mini Sheepadoodles, but will probably venture into the Teacup sometime down the road. These adorable sweethearts were just too cute not to share.

They get along well with children and will be open to positive interaction with other dogs.
This dog is high intelligence and an eagerness to please makes them fairly easy to train. Provided the training is firm and consistently patient, including early socialization, while still a puppy. Sheepadoodles are generally healthy, but some of the health problems include things like Skin problems, Renal disorders, Von Willebrand disease, Hip dysplasia, Epilepsy, Dilated cardiomyopathy, Patellar luxation, Sebaceous adenitis, Patent ductus arteriosis, Mitral dysplasia, Tricuspid dysplasia, Allergies, Bloat. The estimated lifespan of the Sheeppoo is expected to be between 12 and 15 years.
Sheepadoodle Life Expectancy
- Standard Sheepadoodles: 10-13 years, depending on size and condition.
- Mini or Moyen Sheepadoodle: 12-15 years, depending on size and condition. Smaller dogs generally live longer than larger dogs.
SHEEPADOODLE GROOMING & CARE
The Sheepadoodle does not shed, but needs regular brushing to maintain a long coat, which is soft and usually wavy. Sheepadoodles can have their furry coats both straight and curly, which requires regular grooming like brushing a few times weekly as also, trimming them when necessary, especially if it covers their eyes. Clean their ears weekly to avoid infections. Regular and complete grooming is a good for your dog health.
Exercise is important for their overall confidence and it must be useful for a healthy lifestyle. The sheepadoodle is a strong, active dog that requires a great deal of daily exercise. There are many physical, health benefits as well. When the Sheepapoo receives regular exercise, it helps to prevent ailments like Heart disease, Some types of cancer, Stroke, & Arthritis etc. When you buy a Sheepdogdoodle slowly transition him to dry dog food; because an inherent trait from both breeds is slight gastric sensitivity and choosing a quality food is important. As an adult, your Sheepadoodle should be fed 3-4 cups of top quality dry dog food daily.
MOYEN VS MINI SHEEPADOODLE
There are Standard Sheepadoodles that are the result of an Old English Sheepdog bred with a Standard Poodle and typically weigh 60-95 lbs. An F1 Medium or Moyen Sheepapoo is the result of an Old English Sheepdog bred to either a Toy Poodle (10 inches and under), or a Miniature Poodle (over 10 inches and not over 15 inches). They are still a first generation Sheepadoodle hence the F1; but because of the Toy Poodle they will likely be smaller than a standard sheepadoodle.
Whether the Sheepadoodle is a Medium/Moyen or a Mini depends on their full grown weight / size. The typical weight of a Moyen Sheepadoodle is around 40-60 lbs; while the typical weight of a Mini Sheepapoo is about 20-40 lbs. There is quite the difference between each of the varying sizes, so to estimate the size of the child take the weight or each parent and find the median. For example, if the mother (dam) was an F1 Moyen Sheepadoodle that weighed 40 lbs and the father (sire) was a Toy Poodle that weighed 10 lbs; then the median would be 25 lbs, making the child an F1B Mini Sheepadoodle. Here are some charts to show the information in an easier to understand format.
