What's the process when buying a puppy?
A simplified explanation of what to expect when buying a puppy from Precious Doodle Dogs.
1. You see an upcoming litter or puppy you love and want to bring home!
We'll post pictures of our upcoming litters or currently available puppies. If you see a litter or puppy you're interested in and you're ready to place a deposit to reserve a puppy, fill out our puppy application or place your deposit to reserve the puppy. If you see a litter you're interested in or a puppy you like and it's not available let us know and we'll tell you when we expect to have a puppy with similar coat, color, temperament, size etc will be available.
2. The litter is born & genders are available for deposits
We wait to accept deposits until after the puppies are born so we know the gender you prefer is available. Once the litter is born we know exactly how many boys & how many girls are available & will open up deposits to those that have filled out applications first. If there are still puppies available that haven't been reserved we'll announce the available puppies on the website and they'll be available to reserve through the site.
3. You place a deposit on the puppy you're wanting
To reserve a puppy we need to know that you're committed to loving and caring for your puppy, so before we'll put your name down as committed we require a $500 Non-refundable retainer to reserve the puppy. This way you're reserving the exact puppy you're wanting, with the gender, coat type, and color you are wanting in your puppy from the start.
4. Contact your Breeder
After placing your deposit get in touch with your breeder for updates, contracts, & information to help with scheduling your puppies pickup. Be sure to sign and return any contracts, and get your payments in to your breeder as soon as you're able. Payment needs to be submitted a week before the puppy pickup date if you're choosing to use a credit card or pay online.
5. Book your flights, or contact your Pet Nanny to arrange for bringing your new puppy home.
Flights are cheaper the earlier they're booked, so check with your breeder for the go-home date for your puppy to schedule your flights or transports. We are always happy for families to fly in to pick up their new puppy, but as that's not always easy, we have a couple Pet Nannies we recommend for transporting your pet to you. Each pet nanny needs as much time as possible to book flights to get you your pet home on time, so be sure to contact them with your airport, contact information, & deposit to reserve their services as soon as you're able. Then be sure to keep us updated on what transport arrangements you've made.

6. Your breeder will update you with pictures and answer any questions you have.
We know that getting to see the puppies grow up is a treasured experience. We'll send you your breeders information so they can send you weekly updates as your puppy grows. Then if you have any questions you can ask them along the way and they can help you prepare for your new adventure!
7. You make the Final Payment to pay off the puppy prior to delivery.
With the prior payments subtracted the final balance needs to be paid 7 days prior to the puppy leaving. Talk to your breeder and make the final payment and be sure to sign and send back the contract as well. If you'd prefer paying in cash, be sure to contact your breeder to make arrangements beforehand.
8. We'll meet you at the airport or deliver your new puppy to the pet nanny with whom you've made arrangements.
It's time for your puppy pick up! If you're flying in we'll coordinate a time to meet you at the airport. For those with a pet nanny flying the puppy, be sure to give us the nanny's info and we'll coordinate with the pet nanny and meet them at the airport where they'll take the puppy & the puppy transition pack to deliver to you.
9. You take your puppy home to love and care for furever!
You take your puppy home or the pet nanny delivers you your pet and then you take him/her home. With each puppy we send a puppy transition pack with all of their original Vaccination & Vet check records, State Health Certificates where needed for flights, a blanket that smells like mama & littermates, a toy to snuggle, a rope to chew, & a bag of their puppy food to use as you transition to the puppy food you've chosen to feed them.
Take really good care of your puppy & send us LOTS of pictures! We love to see these sweethearts grow!!
